Migration route, time frame, destination Arkansas?

Exactly what was/were the migration route(s) from TN to Ozarks?
What time frame for the bulk of the migration?
Are the "Ozarks" referring to Arkansas as the final destination? Some of the Ozarks are in MO, too, aren't they?
My family went from TN before 1838 to KY, then to IL by 1849, then to MO by 1858, then some straggled to AR by mid 1860s. Are they considered a part of the TN to Ozarks migration?

Hello board, I'm looking for a good book or any reference on migration to the ozarks. If a family or three came from NC. to TN. why stop in AR.? This would be the same time frame for gold in CA. HMMM? Thanks GLO
