This seems to join some of the Riney Raney families. I've been looking for 11 years.
I received a copy of a antique letter written on Feb 4, 1872 to Felix Raney from S F O'BRIEN.
In the letter he talks about "Curnel" James Raney, and his youngest son Thomas who got married.
The amazing part to me is in the next antique letter to Aunt Hannah Belle Raney on March 12, 1890, from John R. O'BRIEN, where he talks about James Raney who was a cousin to Uncle Felix. This is quite a find for me.
My gg grand James was son of Jeremiah RINEY/RANEY.
Felix was son of Clement Riney and Susannah MONTGOMERY.
Making Clement a brother to my Jeremiah Riney Raney and Mary Joan (SHEEHAN MOORE)
my gg grand James Virgil Raney b.4 Apr 1809 Washington Co, KY. To Martin Co, IN 1818, age 9. James was Colonel in the Mexican War and recruiter in the Civil War. d.21 Sep 1881 MCI. Both bur St. Rose Cemetery, Mt Pleasant, Perry Township, MCI, married Mary Helen HOLLAND b.22 Jul 1820 d.22 Apr 1891 MCI m.15 Oct 1839 Daviess Co, IN. James and Mary had 9 Children:1)Frank Raney 2)Jeremiah Raney 3)Mary 4)Johanna Raney GOOTEE 5)my great grand John Allen Raney 6)Alexander Raney 7)Thomas Raney and 8,9)unnamed twins
Were Clement parents Thomas and Priscilla Riney?
Hope you have a connection
