My wife and I spent an enjoyable afternoon at that museum last June. There we met Monte Smith and his wife. Monte dresses in buckskins and gives the tours. His wife plays the role of one of the pioneer women in camp. They also own a wagon company that actually takes you on wagon trips into the canyons. We found both of the Smiths to be gracious and friendly hosts. I would recommend that anyone passing though Montpelier stop at the museum and look them up.
