They say behind every great man is a great woman and this definitely applies to our mother. While Dad was seeking fame as an outdoors writer and being the breadwinner of the family, it was mother quietly in the background being the loving, supporting wife, the mother of two children, and a person who loved the church and doing her charity work. Marjorie was a long time supporter and volunteer of the American Cancer Society and was very active before her death in the Mason Historical Society and St. Joseph's Catholic Church, both in Mason. Visitation will be Monday, November 14, 2005, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at the Mason Funeral Home in Mason, Texas, immediately followed by a Rosary at the funeral home. A funeral Mass celebrating Marjorie's life will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with burial immediately following at Gooch Cemetery in Mason. In lieu of flowers and as a memorial to Marjorie's charity work, the family requests a donation be made to either the Mason Historical Society, Mason, Texas, or the American Cancer Society.
