Thanks. I was thinking it was some sort of ribbon that was bestowed on members of the International Order of Odd Fellows for whatever reason. Your post has given me another lead but hasn't completely discounted the Odd Fellows theory since I know they started somewhere "over there".
I've been trying to find some way to track down the M C Lilley & Co of Columbus Ohio but, apparently, they went out of business in the early '50s. :(
