Looking for Jacob

Hello All,

I'm looking for info on Jacob Levenseller / Levensellar.

He is the Father of my ggg Grandmother - Olive Helvia Levenseller. I've seen it spelled as Levenseller and
Levensellar.

Here is how I think it goes. Jacob Levenseller moved to
Grand Maman Island, NB, Canada from Nova Scotia, Canada and then onto to Waldoboro, Maine. I do not know the name or maiden name of his wife. Only the name of 2 daughters .. Olive and Jane.

I am guessing, but I think Jacob moved on to Waldoboro in the 1830's or 1840's

I think Olive was born on Grand Manan Island about 1815. She married John Fitzgerald of Campobello Island, NB, Canada.

Any help with this would be greatly apperciated indeed!

Thanks in advance

Mark Fitzgerald
Campobello Island, NB, Canada.
Researching your Salvation Army Ancestors Information

I am finding some vaulable information in researching some of my ancestors who were served in the Salvation Army and thought I would share with others who are starting their Genealogy journey this way. Maybe you have a photo, like me but do not have locations, dates or what type of service your ancestor did for the Salavation Amry. Below is a web site the Salvation Amry has that will give you a list of "Heritage Centres,Museums Archives - World Wide". That is the topic title you want to click on once you get to the web site.

http://www1.salvationarmy.org/heritage.nsf

The Museums Curators are in charge of all their members service records. Sometimes, the same photo you may have of your ancestor is the same one the Salvation Army may have in your ancestors service record with the Salvation Army. I am just starting upon this journey myself and hope this has been helpful.

Sincerely,
Rebecca

Could someone please assist? Many years ago my sister, who was born in Minden, Germany in 1947, lost her birth certificate. She would like to know how she could obtain a copy. Is there a central archive in Germany where records of births are stored or are records stored in the towns and cities where people are born. We are conducting research on our family tree and hope that her birth certificate may provide new leads. If anyone can assist please send me the postal (or e-mail) address to where she can write to obtain a copy.
With best wishes,
John
(Brisbane, Australia)
Looking for info on J. A. Gregory, father of Francis Sarah Gregory. Have not been able to find any info about his birth, death, or marriage. I assume he was born about 1860 his daughter was born in 1886. I think his wifes maiden name may have been Johnson, no first name listed. I keep finding info on Alexander (Jack) Gregory, whose wife was Sarah Francis. They are much older than J. A. Gregory that I am looking for. I wonder if they are related , He could be a grandson of them. Would like to hear from any one who might know anything. Thanks, Nora

I am trying to find a cemetery called Baby Heaven. The town or county I have is Pachina California. I am told that the baby that is to be buried there was born either 10-19-1950 or 10-19-1956 her name was Willa Marie Rogers she only lived one hour. Permission was given for the body to be taken by a University or some medical place to be tested to try and find out why out of 7 children none of the girls lived. Thanks for the help.

Southern vs. Northern ports for immigration

While researching my family history, I have not found any that utilized a Northern immigration port. Has anyone else come across this in their searches?
I'd like to know some background on this if you have it. Why did the South get so much use, even from the British. Was the fare cheaper to go to the South? Or was it used more prior to the Civil War?

I always hear about how hundreds of thousands of immigrants went through Ellis Island, but I don't have any ancestors who did!

vincatheflower@aol.com

Need help finding Mississippi/Alabama Stepps

My g-grandparents were Richard F. and Amanda Stepp (I don't know her maiden name, but my grandmother's middle name was Richie). All I know for sure is that they were in Van Zandt Co., Tx. by the early 1900's. My grandmother (Millie Stepp Simpson) said she was born in or near Holly Springs, Mississippi (late 1800's) and I think the Stepps may have migrated from Alabama, but I have searched and searched without finding any record of them. According to my grandmother, there were some Choctaw/Cherokee ancestors, but I can't even find links to the European branches of this tree. I would be very greatful for any tidbit of informaiton.

Ellen

Grandfather Norman Phelps Mason (USN WWII) married Lillian McLearn (McLaren), a Washington, DC, seamstress, originally from VA. Children: Charlotte, Lillian (Diddy), Allen, Herbert (Hershey), Norman, Jr. (Buck), Louise. Any info would be appreciated. They did not arrive on earth "fully formed from Athena's brow" which currently appears to be the case! Thanks.
