I realize this is getting close to a year after you posted your qestion Kristin - but I wanted to let you know that I sent you an email regarding your dream of starting a historical society.

I'm an undergraduate student majoring in the Historic Preservation of Architecture, and am currently working with a small town in Minnesota on starting their historical society.
If anyone has questions about Historic Preservation, or about forming a historical society, again - just give me an email and I'll try to get back to you ASAP.
