Classification: Query
Surnames: Dixon, Dixson, Williams, Dishon
Researching Carrington,Carrentan, M.Cainton, Carinton, Canton, Charentan, Carnton Dixon-Dixson, who lived in French Lick, Orange Co. Indiana 1820-1845. Married Rachel Williams dau/John Williams and Rachel Hobson b. NC
1854 Letter wrote by John Dixson of New Market, Va to John and Nathan Dixon of French Lick, Orange Co. Indiana says (Neffus) He was a Smith(blacksmith) finished a wagon for Carrington, sold his and making another one for himself. Has a Joseph Farlow working for him and Carrington lives 4 miles from him.
My research shows Carrentan, Carrington Dixon was in French Lick, Orange Co. in 1845 when his son Carrinton Dixon was born, then no more info about Carrentan Dixon in Indiana. 1850 census shows wife Rachel Dixon with family 1860 Rachel Dixon widow in Paoli, Orange Co. Indiana.
Carrington-Carrentan Dixon is my third Ggrandfather.
