Free Will Baptist Historical Society of Wisconsin

Several people that have been researching the Free Wills in Wisconsin have decided to create a non-profit historical society to study, document, and preserve the history of the 100+ churches that existed between 1840 and 1926.

I am one of the "co-founders" and am working hard to get the information together to make everything official. Hopefully by early next year things will be rolling, along with a newsletter. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thank you!!

membership lists???

My g-g-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Nickols (nee White) claimed (as stated in her obituary) to have been a Freewill Baptist from the age of 13. Our records have her living in Carroll County, Arkansas during her childhood.
I am wondering if there are church records that include membership lists where I might find her listed..? She and her first husband, James Nickols, have eluded all leads in establishing that branch of my family's tree.
Any help would be appreciated!

Rebecca

Freewill Baptist minister in Washington and Fond du Lac Counties, Wisconsin

I am trying to do some research on the Freewill Baptist religion in Wisconsin. My ancestor was a Freewill minister in Washington and Fond du Lac Counties, but I know there were several other counties that had this denomination.

The history of the Freewill Baptists often was mixed in with Baptists or Congregationalists. Is anyone aware if this county had Freewill Baptists and how I might learn more? Thanks!!

Comfort B. Waller, Free Will Baptist Minister in New York, Ohio & Wisconsin

am looking for any help or information regarding my ancestor, Comfort Babcock Waller. He was born in 1813 in what can be broadly classified as "Genesee County". His parents are unknown, as are any siblings. He became a Free Will Baptist Minister around 1831 and moved to Ohio and later Wisconsin, where he died in 1891. He married Nancy Batchelder and had 8 children.

All resources in current Genesee County have been pretty much exhausted, leaving me to turn to other counties that were once part of Genesee. Any help on this 15 year old mystery would be GREATLY appreciated!!

Thank you!
