My grandfather's last name in Germany was Abraham, he was supposed to have been put on board a ship to US with the name Abrams, after he got here his name became Meyer. Confused?
My grandmother's maiden name was Loewenberg, she was the youngest of 10, the other 9 were male. She corresponded with them from 1899 to the Holocaust, she never heard from any of them after that. Two of her brothers were Walter & Erich, would love to know if any of her family survived.
