Surnames: SHERER, SCHERER
I am looking for birth records, father/mothers name, port of entry in to the US and from where. I am a son of John H.Sherer, son of Emmitt Sherer (Emmet Scherer), son of Adolph Sherer (Scherer). I am trying to track our family ties to Switzerland, but get hung up in Ohio. I have found some new information from the 1880 cenus that has an Adolph Scherer of Tuscarawas (farmer) being recorded. I don't know if this was in error or he changed his name to Sherer
