I have several pictures of some women who went to Northwest Bible Institute in Washington. My great aunt graduated in 1938, and I believe these friends of hers probably graduated around the same time. Some of the portrait names are:
Elizabeth
Betty
Katie
Iva
And the picture of the graduating class of 1938.

If you think one of these people are your family, let me know, I will send it to you. If you want a copy of the picture of the graduating class, let me know, I will email it to you.
Thanks
Katrina
gdy2shoes23@gmail.com

Azusa Street Revival Centennial Celebration

The Fire Still Falls - a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Azusa Street Revival was held April 26 - 29, 2006 in the Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles. (I can't help but picture the contrast between the small cottage on Bonnie Brae, the former livery stable on Azusa, and this auditorium).

Some of these links have quite a bit of information about the early days of the Pentecostal movement, including references to William Seymour, Frank Bartleman, and William Branham

http://thefirestillfalls.com/ME2/Sites/Default.asp

Dont' miss the Article
Azusa Street, The Cradle of Modern Pentecostalism

A Report on The Fire Still Falls in a bulletin dated May 7, 2006 - you may need to check in the archives by date...
http://christanchoredtab.org/news/

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azusa_Street_Revival

Wiki on Pentecostalism, including quite a good History section.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentecostalism

An E-zine covers the event with pre- and post- interviews.
http://www.ninetyandnine.com/Archives/20060417/cover.htm
www.ninetyandnine.com/Archives/20060515/news.htm

The links contains photographs of Frank Bartleman,
William J and Jenny Seymour and other Pentecostals who were
there when the fire of Holy Ghost baptism fell on these old fashioned prayer warriors.

The writing about what happened during the Azura Street Revival is
inspired, to say the least. And, for the student researching the roots of Pentecostalism in America, it is a "must" read.

http://www.ag.org/enrichmentjournal/199904/026_azusa.cfm

http://www.ag.org/enrichmentjournal/199904/026_azusa_2.cfm

http://www.ag.org/enrichmentjournal/199904/026_azusa_3.cfm

Julia G Spencer, Administrator
William Joseph SEYMOUR of Azuza Street in California; A 1906 Pentecostal

"The interracial aspects of the movement in Los Angeles were a striking exception to the racism and segregation of the times. The phenomenon of blacks and whites worshipping together under a black pastor seemed incredible to many observers. The ethos of the meeting was captured by Frank Bartleman, a white Azusa participant, when he said of Azusa Street, "The color line was washed away in the blood." Indeed, people from all the ethnic minorities of Los Angeles, a city which Bartleman called "the American Jerusalem," were represented at Azusa Steet".

The quoted message was taken from the following link:

http://www.oru.edu/university/library/holyspirit/pentorg1.ht...
