Classification: Query
Surnames: Logan, Burdg, Scogings
This morning I found an email for my request to look up a marriage record out of Philly in 1791
... they sent a photo copy of the record page:
"Marriages from Thomas Cheyney's Docket
Henry Logan of Pennsbury
Sarah Scogings of same
Feb. 16, 1791
(witnesses) Thos Cheyney, James Bennett, Shusanah House, Elizabeth Millhouse,
Rachel Taylor, George Darlington, William Kenney, William Scott, Mary Hallard,
Joseph Hunt, Betsey Kerns, William Williamson, Alice Cheyney, Betsey Cheyney"
My great x3 grandmother was a Jane S Logan (1792-1880) who married John H Burdge (1792-1852). I 'believe' Jane to be the daughter of this Henry & Sarah. The funny thing is the Elizabeth Millhouse (witness above) is the 'future' 1st
cousin twice removed of Franklin Milhous, who married Almira Burdg, future 3rd cousin twice removed of Jane's husband, John H Burdge. (Franklin & Almira were
Richard Nixon's grandparents, making me 7th cousin once removed to Richard Nixon.
Anyone know anything about any of these folks?
Thanx for listening!
Mary
