How available are archived tax and land records in most parts of the US? I'm interested right now in Massachusetts (Plymouth County), but when I've tried searches on Ancestry, I only seem to see listings for some of the southern states, western territories and sometimes other countries. I am trying to determine how the family's original home moved through the family -- after the death of the patriarch of the family, I know that family members lived on in the house but said they were renting it, rather than they owned. I haven't succeeded in finding any online sources of wills or land transfers in the 1910 timeframe in Massachusetts -- and I'd have expected that such an old community would have a lot of accessible records.
