What is "Divers Deed"
Does anyone know what a "Divers Deed" is? From the PA Archives of 1765, "Thomas Stewart was denied a patent on 100 acres as another laid claim to it by divers deed, part of a 200 acre tract in Cumberland Co." In 1748 his father drafted a will, proved 1750, for this 200 acres to be split evenly with his sons when they came of age.
