I am trying to trace my family roots. Himpfen is my family name . My G G grandfather was born in Germany maybe Brandenburg. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I believe either Prussian or German

The attached coat of arms belongs to the Polentz family. ???

It was gained after a battle ?????

I am told he was made a Baron for his efforts and granted this Coat of Arms (Attached)

Can anyone help me to identify or provide any ifo on this family or Coat of Arms

This writer of maternal german ancestry has inherited identical visbile markings of certain royals who show the same in the, Past Kaisers line, the House of Hanover, The Royal Hess line, the Ruusain Romanov line and past and present members of the House of Windsor. All are related and share the sam blood linee.

I would be interested to explore if the royal blood line mentioned has been inherited by others who may have been related to the royals mentioned Contact William at picorporation@hotmail.com for further information

Supposedlym in my family history, my ancestor's were known as von Eitzen, and some how Prussian Royalty. But My great great great etc... grandfather converted to Mennonitism, and when the king wanted him to go to war he refused and lost his possition. The family later went to live in Ukraine.

was there a von Eitzen royal family?

I'm trying to verify some research started by another family member and am coming up very short on information. I can't seem to even verify a noble family of this name, but I don't know exactly where to look. Family legend has it that Clara Hesch came to the US after marriage to a common laborer. There is supposedly a passport hanging on someone's wall that states she is a princess, and he a laborer, but I've never personally seen it. Her parents were Antonius Hesch (christ. Jan 20 1810) and Agnetis Biller.

I am also looking for anything I can read to give a historical perspective of this region, and what exactly it meant to be a nobel in that place and period.

What's Best Way to Research PRUSSIAN ROYALTY?

I need help from an EXPERT, please! What is the best system for researching the various members of the various royal Prussian families. Would the title "COUNT" have been used among any Prussian royalty.

I have been studying Prussia as much and as fast as I can, tracking its growth from circa 1400 through the 1700's and 1800's. I am descended of a Prussian born in Gronia/Gronau. This man was a person of fierce determination, gentleman's manners, personal wealth, and an unwaivering loyalty to his children. He was hugely involved in the recording of his family's history.

I need advice on how to look for a specific gentleman with the royal title of Count. And I don't know where to begin.

Would you please explain the meaning of a royal blood line and those persons who become royalty without decending from the same ancestor that makes up the blood line.

Whose claim would be stronger to claim royal lines, one who is a decendent of a specific royal blood line, or one who marries into royalty today but did not share the same blood line.

Prussian Royalty comes to America

My great grandparents came to America to Pittsburgh.
I know they changed their name. But I do not know much about them. My grandmother was born June 10, 1894.

The names they changed to were Bartalay and my great grandmother's maiden name was Zarumba.

Without much to go on, is there a way to find out their true names?

Hello,
I have found a very small amount of info pertaing to my Father's-Grandfathers Town which was located near the Danzig River In Prussia at the time,Records that are in Polish indicate that this town was a border town and also destroyed by the German's in WW2,...
The Town was Named "Pilczuki" as translated,and i could really find records about what was in the town in 1921,and also 1 stroy when the Germans destroyed the town with it's small Jewish population and also the rest of the town was Roman Cathloic.And Very Sadly to say that not only were the Jewish sent to thier demise but also the other religons that others practice and how they met thier demise I will not go into because it's abit "Sick"..
I have found also that afew "Pilczuk's" made it out in the early 1900's and also the late 1800's...
Another thing that is very interesting is that another "Pilczuk" that had made it out became one of the best craftsman for instruments such as Trumpets and "Brass Section type",and I also find it uncanny that I myself became a musician "Bass/Drums/Guitar".
I would like to know if there are anymore "Pilczuks" out there in the USA,I know very little about our Nobelmans town/Village,and would likek to share our family tree..

I am researching the VON ELIAS (just Elias in America) surname. My great-great-grandfather was Nicolaus Elias ca. 1833 and d.post 1920. He may have possibly had a brother named Balthasar (ca. 1827 - d.1878). Both Nick (as he was known here) and Balthasar lived in the same county (Manitowoc), bordering townships (Liberty, Eaton) in Wisconsin in the mid 1860s and 1870s. I cannot find anything on any web site showing either of these gentlemen before they came to the U.S. It is estimated that they came over in the mid-late 1850s and spent time in Detroit, Michigan. Family lore has it that Nick said he came from "Prussian Royalty" but fled to the U.S. to avoid military service. Any help with this would be appreciated; I don't have the name of a town or even real firm birth dates (the ones I have are extrapolated from census records in the U.S.) - it would be great to know where I should start.

I once saw the last name ROEPKEN related to one of the royal families. If anyone should know more about the relationship between the roepken name and one of Prussian royalty families I would love to hear about it or know where I can learn more about it.

I am looking for information on my grandmother's side of the family. She was a Luetzow (Lutzow)

Her father was Charles Luetzow, born in 1855 and emigrated to the USA in or about 1870. He settled in Wauwatosa (Milwaukee County ) Wisconsin. His wife's name was Magdelena Reinganz.

I am especially interested in finding his birthplace, and then the name of his church where he was baptized, etc.

Any help would be appreciated.

abt. 1856 to America

Does anyone know of any member of the royal family or reletives thereof who came to America to avoid going in the Prussian Army abt. 1856. Hans Christian/Henry Jacobs was brought over by his mother Anna Marie ? I suspect he had brothers with them. They settled in St. Louis Co., MO. Family lore has it they canged the name from the origional to jacobs to avoid detection.
