How to I list ALIA (alias, AKA) correctly?

In my software, Family Tree Maker version 16, I list AKA. My downloaded gedcom file shows it on the individual's page under ALIA. But when I do a global search it doesn't show, only shows as a surname. My example is: AKA: Doc - the search only shows as the surname Doc. (database Teters3 name is Uel F. Roberts). How do I get this to show under searches for Doc Roberts?
