Jen,
I am one generation behind you. Mary Barnes was the wife of Thomas Barnes, who married her in Farmington, Conn. There's not much information about her. She was accused of witchcraft by Rebecca Greensmith and Elizabeth Seager and tried on Jan 6, 1662. Rebecca Greensmith was accused by William Ayers of "disturbing" Anna Cole. Rebecca confessed and implicated her husband, Mary Barnes, and others. Rebecca and Susan were hanged on "Gallows Hill" in Hartford on January 25, 1663.
My ancestor, John Scoville, married Sarah Barnes, the daughter of Thomas and Mary, in 1666. I am Gates Scoville
