I am also a Martin descendent looking for information. I am currently a psychology student. My aunt gave me my family tree and it goes back to William Martin born in 1660 Manor of Pindergast Pembroke Co. England. My descendents lived in Louisa Co., Henry Co., Orange Co., Albemarle Co., Franklin Co., Pittsylvania Co., Franklin Co., Campbell Co. Virginia, Smith Co., Cannon Co., Tipton Co., Tenn., Stokes Co., Rockingham Co., Beaufort Co, Carteret Co., Chatham Co. N. Car., Lincoln Co. Missouri, Metcalfe Co., Barren Co., Jefferson, Ky., Collin Co., Texas.

I am curious because I lost a son in 2001 at the age of 14 years old under very weird circumstances and for the first year after he died I kept driving thru grave yards and stopping in front of tombstones that said Putman. I don't know why I did this. I just watched the movie the Cruicible and my mother and sister just returned from vacation from Virginia and attended a mock trial on the witch trials. While they were gone I happen to be on the internet playing one night and was looking up daughters of the american revolution and ran into a site that lead me to the the salem witch trials and found Susannah (North) Martin as one of the victims of the trials.

Anyway since my son has passed I feel that I am a very intuitive person and this has really pissed me off. As a psychology student I feel that you need to understand your past to proceed into the future. I also feel as many psychologist that we carry an ancestor marker on our psychic.
