What a surprise to find an actual message board for us folks researching vessels. !! I am looking for the Captain and brother who lost their lives off the coast of Mass. in the Gale of 1839. It was a Waldoboro, Me. schooner{which I am researching all of them} the COLUMBIA...newspaper accounts reaching back to the local newsapers of the times just listed them as "Captain Kaler and his brother" there were also two mates lost but have their names. Hope someone can help and anyone needing Waldoboro vessels info I am here. Thanks.
