Just a suggestion on this topic. Check to see where the nearest maritime museum is and they just might have your informaiton for you. I know in Connecticut, we have Mystic Seaport and they have a lot on all the old ships. I believe there is a museum in New Bedford, MA also, but these places probably will not help you with a foreign ship.
