Larry,
I am not sure that you can go DIRECTLY to your 3rd Great Grandfather through BOTH brothers.
This is not relationships but Blood lines.

Russ, sorry I am a little out of sync with you. I posted earlier that the two brothers have no wives and no children recorded.
I am only related to the 2 brothers through both my 2GGrandmother and her brother, my 2GGranduncle.
Any closer to the info. you need?

Give it up Larry. I've tried everything, and nothing fixes the relationship problems. It makes no sense whatsoever, at least not common sense, anyway. I've gone round and round with FTM support, and they "do not have a solution or fix for this problem at this time." I submitted my whole information in great detail to the enhancements team. If they could just get a "preferred" relationship which we could check and keep from the relationship calculator, that would take care of headaches.
I am quite disappointed with FTM on this. It's the only reason I bought FTM 2010. I will certainly take a VERY close second look at my next purchase.

Hi Sheila:
Yes, the preferred relationship would be great. I can not understand how a very nice and very popular program like FTM is unable to give a blood relationship when there is one. I use a little viewer that does it OK.
I got a response from FTM support, and they recommended that I should try creating a new file with only one person and (instead of importing a file) merge the file. I haven't tried that procedure yet --- maybe later.

I had just purchased FTM 2009 this summer and encountered some relationship problems. I was told that FTM 2010 fixed these problems, so I purchased it. I was so disappointed! Some of the relationships that FTM 2010 lists makes my head hurt to even try to figure them out.
Do you think there is any possibility that they will issue a fix for the problem or do I just need to purchase another program?

Rose,
The Relationships in 2010 are more accurate then they were in Version 2009.

I was told by support that FTM 2010 would correct the relationship problems that I had with FTM 2009. My experience is that the FTM 2009 problems were minor compared to the ones I have with FTM 2010.
Do you use FTM 2010? Are you not having problems with the relationship calculator?

Rose,
Yes I do and I don't have any issues that I have found yet. I think the issue is that we are seeing relationships that we haven't see in the past. The errors that I have seen, in my file, I caused.

RoseHaven,
I think Sheila Robinson's last post says it all. Give it up ! I don't know if you have contacted FTM support, but so far their two suggestions to me on how to fix the problem(s) have not worked.
