FTM 2010 Register report an FTM ver 16 genealogy report

Is there any way to get the format / style (I mean more than changing the font) of the FTM v.16 Genealogy report from FTM 2010. I find the 2010 Register report very difficult to read and so unlike the v. 16 genealogy report which made lots of sense and had great formatting.

It seems as if FTM 2010 allows very little formatting and with all the horizontal lines and forced double spacing can almost DOUBLE the amount of pages I need to print a descendent report with notes.

Is there any way to get the STYLE of the genealogy report from FTM v 16 in 2010?

So far I liked FTM 2010 until I found out how poor the reports are.

Susan,

Which Register Report were you using?

What is very difficult to read? Please provide an example.

Which Register Report?

What Items are you including in the report.

the report I am using in ver 16 is simply called "Genealogy report" from the report drop down box.

The report I am using in version 2010 is the "Register report", the first one on the left in collection of genealogy reports.

the items I am including are the name, birth death, marriage, person notes and source.

I've included jpgs of the first page of each

Susan,

There are two Register Reports. The one you attached and the Simple one. Have you worked with the Items to Include feature, if these reports are not what you want? It is in the RH Panel, left end of that panel.

FTM 2010 Register report an FTM ver 16 genealogy report

Overall, I like FTM210, however am disappointed that neither register report lists the husband of one of my half-first cousins. It lists only her and doesn't mention her husband at all. I thought perhaps it is because I don't know children's names. However I have another second generation distant cousin who was married but never had children and her husband is listed, also an aunt and uncle who never had children are listed on the report.

Can someone please help me with this problem? I am very frustrated, because I promised a report on this half-first cousin.

Thanks very much,
Frances Parker Russell

Frances,

Sounds like you may have a relationship issue in your file.

Please go to the individual involved (or the spouse) and check the Relationship Tab. What is the Shared Relationship between the Husband and Wife?

There is nothing listed in the shared relationship area. However when I print the report beginning with her name rather than her father's, the report prints that she married her husband. Unfortunately I do not have a date. I know it must have been sometime in the 1950's around 1954. I found no marriage records, but I remember seeing her after she was married while I was still living in Mena and in high school there. I graduated in 1954 and moved shortly after graduation to Kansas. I don't remember ever seeing her again. This is the only problem I have with FTM 2010, so far.

Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

Frances,

Not having dates is not an issue. OR you could use abt, bef, aft, type of dates. This issue, however, is that they are NOT listed on the a Shared Relationship part of that screen. Is the Name there?

The heading for the area on the person view says shared facts with Darwin Gene Lance, her husband. Below that is blank.

I want to print a genealogy report for that begins with her grandfather that will list her marriage which does not happen. Again when I begin the report with her name, it prints as expected.

I appreciate your taking time to help me with this. I will be away from my computer for the rest of the afternoon, but will check back as soon as I am able to this evening.

Are you saying, that you are looking at the People Workspace, Person Tab for the female and looking at the Shard FACTs you see the Name of her husband. Right?

But, in the Genealogy Report, her Husband's Name is not there?

I just ran a report, where the female had the "husband" shared facts with only the name. In the Genealogy Report from her grandfather, it lists "met" for her and the "spouse". In my example, they hadn't married. But, he is listed.

When you go to the People, Family View for this person (and Darwin) what FACTs are listed in the RH Panel, when you have Darwin hi-lighted in the Family View?
